Drysdale gets the breakthrough

Drysdale won its first game of the new Premier Division Dow Cup with a 12-goal win against Queenscliff in round three.
The northern Bellarine’s two sides – Drysdale and Portarlington – sit eighth and ninth respectively on the BNL ladder. Port defeated Newcomb by 25 goals in round three with Tania Du Plessis best on court.
In Division 1, Drysdale is fourth on the ladder and Port is in eighth spot. The Hawks won a one-point cliffhanger against Queenscliff while the Dees overcame a plucky Newcomb by three goals with Courtney Elliott dominant.
In Division 2, Drysdale is in eighth place and Port 10th. Drysdale scraped home by two goals in a nailbiter against the Coutas with Brittany O’Dowd, Izzy Searle and Shari Stillman playing well. Port went down to Newcomb by seven goals despite the best efforts of Megan Hiller.
In Division 3, the Hawks are in eighth spot after losing to Queenscliff. Madeleiene Ritchie and Renee Wescott were best for the Hawks. Port is one rung higher in seventh position after thrashing the Power with Eloise Puiatti and Bridget England starring.
