The Coles’ team at its new store in Drysdale is doing its bit to support the local community by sponsoring the Drysdale Football Netball Club.
Store manager Jared Bond said the Coles team at Drysdale was proud to be associated with the 138-year-old club and will be cheering on the senior men’s, women’s, boys’ and girls’ teams throughout the season.
“Sports clubs play a big role in bringing communities like ours together, so we’re delighted to be able to sponsor the club to enable them to continue their fantastic work. A couple of our store team members are involved with these clubs, and I always look forward to hearing about all the match summaries on Monday mornings,” Jared said.
Football club president Greg Collier said Coles had provided gift cards, donated products and allowed the club to use the store’s weekend fund-raising community barbecue.
“This sponsorship arrangement has assisted the club in supporting over 500 participants across both senior and junior competitions,” Greg said.
The store is getting behind the Hawks with a major gift card donation to both the football and netball clubs. This included a $500 gift card for the club’s recent Ladies Day raffle, which is the club’s major annual fund-raiser supporting Beyond Blue.
“If there are any other local sports clubs looking for support, I’m happy to chat with them to see how Coles can assist,” Jared said.
