Bellarine Secondary College music teacher Stephen McEwan has been nominated for the inaugural ARIA Music Teacher of the Year award.
McEwan has made it to the final four for the prestigious award that will be announced on Channel 9 on 28 November.
“It’s kind of overwhelming and humbling,” he told the Voice.
“It’s acknowledgement for the work that all the staff do, not just me.”
McEwan rceived many nominations from his own students.
“I was nominated by a lot of current and ex students,” he said.
“All the other nominees probably run great programs as well and we’re all privileged to do what we do.”
The award celebrates dedicated music teachers or mentors.
This year, ARIA and The Song Room are giving fans the chance to vote for their favourite nominee to help decide who takes home the inaugural ARIA Music Teacher Of The Year Award.
